Follow Lego Locken & Get $25 Free
Dapper Bricks gives you two ways to shop: browse LEGO sets, minifigures, and bulk brick in downtown Mount Pleasant, or join Lego Locken for live auctions on Whatnot.
Locken Henderson, the founder of Dapper Bricks, also sells on Whatnot under the name Lego Locken. Watch a show to see the items on camera and take part in the auction from wherever you are.
Prefer to take your time browsing? Plan a visit to the store at 116 North Main Street, Mount Pleasant, Iowa.
How Whatnot Actually Works
Whatnot is a livestreamed marketplace. Picture a home shopping channel, except run by LEGO nerds instead of guys selling steak knives. Here’s the format:
- I go live.
- Items come up one at a time.
- You bid in the chat, in real time.
- Highest bid when time runs out takes it home.
No waiting on a restock. No refreshing a product page hoping it’s still there. You either catch the drop, or you don’t, and someone else adds it to their collection instead.
New Here? We’re Paying You $25 to Try It.
First-time Whatnot buyers get $25 credit, applied automatically at checkout. No promo code to hunt down, no fine print. Just $25 off whatever you bid on first.
That’s not us being generous for no reason. That’s us betting you’ll like it enough to come back for the next show.
How to Join a Show (Takes 2 Minutes)
- Download the Whatnot app and create an account.
- Search Lego Locken and hit follow.
- Turn on notifications so you catch the next live drop.
Why Bother With a Live Auction Instead of Just Buying It Online?
Fair question. Here’s the honest answer: because it’s better for you, not just for us.
- You see it before you buy it. Sets, box condition, minifig paint: it’s on camera, live, not a stock photo.
- You set the price. No sticker shock. If it’s not worth it to you, you don’t bid.
- Explore another selection. Watch the items offered in each show, then visit the store to browse the shelves in person.
- You’re hanging out with other LEGO people. The chat is half the fun. It’s a room full of people who get why you’d fight over a minifigure.
Quick Questions, Straight Answers
Is Whatnot free to join and watch?
Yes. Downloading the app, creating an account, and watching shows costs nothing. You only pay when you win an auction.
Is this the same inventory as the shop in Mt Pleasant?
The selection varies between the store and each live show. Check the livestream for the items being offered there, and visit Dapper Bricks to see what is currently on the shelves.
What happens if I don’t win anything?
Nothing. No cost, no obligation. Follow along, watch the chat, and jump in whenever something catches your eye. There’s always another show.
